Duke of the Northern Imperial Tier Alkis Patriculas Ephrades (a.k.a. The Sleepy Duke)
Duke Ephrades, also known as The Sleepy Duke is the Imperial Duke of the Northern Tier in the Empire of Korrisia. Ephrades was a City Council member during the War of Aggression, and was the prime reason that Bryn Shander surrendered before the Overlord unleashed an Edict across the Northern Realms.
The people of Bryn Shander mockingly call Ephrades the Sleepy Duke due to his rampant laziness and it's often rare to see him before the afternoon. In reality the Duke truly is apathetic and cares little about his people, seeking to enjoy the pay, housing, and power over others. The City Council also has been blamed for getting little work done, but this is because the Duke refuses to sign most laws unless it directly benefits him.
No Northern Count wishes to pick a fight with the Duke, and many Archons could care less about the land-owning nobles as they have their ambitions and personal agendas to worry about. The Duke's laziness has obviously not reached the Overlord as well, which is the singular being that Ephrades fears. The Duke is incredibly unpopular because he is not a native Northerner, he was a silk merchant who had taken a monopoly during the years of the Calemdarian Republic, and weaseled his way into a City Council seat to more easily manipulate the commerce laws of Bryn Shander.
