Upon returning from the First Biatian Campaign, Capibus Qulus Orquisus met with the priesthood of Stronus in Calpi. He demanded that they publicly anoint him R̂oldavum. At first, they resisted, but he offered the classic carrot-and-stick approach, threatening to destroy the Temple of Stronus if they refused and offering generous donations to the temple if they complied. The priests claim - a claim they maintain to this day - that they only capitulated because Stronus manifested among them and sanctified this action. Whatever the truth of that claim, the priests held a public ceremony outside the Hall of the Catbalus where they declared Capibus "R̂oldavus of the Calpian Empire." Thus, the official beginning of the Calpian Empire was marked.
