The Lighthouse Assembly
On the continent of Sargaas, the religious organization devoted to Threlved, the Tidemistress is the Lighthouse Assembly.
Structure
The Lighthouse Assembly is a hierarchical organization. They are led by a high priest figure called the Wavecrest Father (or Mother, if female). A local priest overseer, called a Swell leads the local temples and the subsidiary shrines that feed them. Assisting the Swell are a number of Tidebrethren, the lowest of the ordained priesthood, who see to the hourly services, conduct ceremonies, etc. Assisting the Tidebrethren, the Seachildren (adolescents who serve the Assembly, and from whom the Tidebrethren are selected) clean the shrines and temples, light the sacred lamps, provide liturgical aid during ceremonies, etc.
Public Agenda
The Lighthouse Assembly exists along all the coasts of the continent, and its aim is to instill respect and reverence for the Tidemother, and by extension, for the sea. Though their goddess is amoral, they are righteous and serve the greater good.
