Rock Gnomes
The most common of the vivaxi, by far are the Rock Gnomes, often simply called "gnomes". They are known for their natural inventiveness and hardiness.

Anatomy
Rock Gnomes are anatomically indistinguishable from their cousins the Opera.
Genetics and Reproduction
Rock Gnomes reproduce sexually. Despite their apparent similarity, Rock Gnomes cannot reproduce with Opera.
Ecology and Habitats
Rock Gnomes originally evolved and settled in rocky hills and low mountains, hence their name.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They tend to eat an omnivorous diet consisting of nuts, naturally occurring grains, tubers, and berries. For meat, they prefer small game birds, rabbits, and goats.
Behaviour
Rock Gnomes are insatiably curious with an equal drive to replicate or improve things they see in the wild as well as devices they have made in the past or that they have seen others make.

Facial characteristics
Female Rock Gnomes appear more or less like small humans. Male noses are broad and bulbous, and they develop thick facial hair and bushy eyebrows; females do not exhibit these traits.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Rock Gnome skin coloration is tan or brown and their hair is blonde or sandy most of the time, though about one in ten has some form of ginger hair, ranging from light orange to auburn to flaming red.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Adapted to warrens and burrows, Rock Gnomes have some ability to see in dim light and darkness.
