Virolamium
Drustanus Arvina surveyed the scene before him with a mixture of trepidation and excitement. Here he was, finally, standing at the threshold of the City of Enlightenment, the grand capital of the Ravessian Empire at its prime, and he was going to explore its depths. Never before in the history of the WayFinders Guild had this been done.
Drustanus took his first step into Virolamium and came to a screeching stop as an inhuman shriek sounded from somewhere deep within the city. Blighted? Perhaps, but Drustanus was prepared to deal with a few Blighted and, having heard and seen them before on his approach to the city, he knew inherently that what he'd just heard was a Blighted Chimera, one of the various mutagenic subclasses of the Blighted.
Drustanus drew his rapier carefully and wandered into the ruined city. His objective was clear, find any technology or information about what happened here, bring those secrets back to the guild, and then share it with the rest of Korinthos. The discovery would be monumental. Drustanus jumped with a start as a shadowy shape dashed across the street before him.
He paused, hands shaking, and carefully lifted his gladius up to point it out in front of him in a defensive stance. Carefully, he inched forward, listening for any sign of where the creature may be or where it might attack from. Nothing.
The silence stretched on, scratching upon his conscience like his boots scratched against the old worn stone beneath his feet. Perhaps he should head back, retrieve his bodyguard and come back into the city with a bit more muscle. The brute was just too noisy for the kind of exploration that Drustanus wished to embark upon. He heard it then, a scrape up above him and to the right.
Swiftly, he turned, leveling his sword in the direction of the sound, and came face to face with the face of a nightmare. Its body vaguely resembled the shape of a human's, with long arms and legs and a torso all emaciated and elongated like icicles as they stretch ever longer. The semblance stopped there, however, as its head had sunk down into the body between the shoulders and the place where its stomach should have been had, instead, been replaced by a large vacuous mouth surrounded by rows of sharp pointing teeth. The creature swung down on its too-long limbs and approached Drustanus, body cocked to the side in interest. As it neared Drustanus, whispers began to fill the air around him. They captivated him, held him firmly in place, unable to move.
The creature stopped just in front of him, reaching out and stroking the side of his face almost tenderly. Drustanus knew he should be terrified, but his mind refused to acknowledge what was transpiring before him. Drustanus did not struggle as the creature picked him up in two huge hands. He did not scream as it lifted him towards its gaping stomach. He did not fight as he was pulled into its gaping maw and pierced by rows of teeth. He did not feel as his mind became another piercing screech among the myriad voices trapped within the strange monster's body.

Districts
There are three districts, the Dusk, Noon, and Dawn districts. Each of these districts has a specific purpose and function within the city. The Dusk district is the place where the military was trained and was called such because the military brought the end of days upon other enemy empires. The Noon district is the civilian quarters and the home of the palace and royal family. It is called the Noon district because it suggests that the Ravessian Empire was at its height. The Dawn district was called thusly because it was the place of innovation and exploration, or the dawn of new ideas and development.
