The Divine are created from Kathe's bones to soothe Pote's despair before they fill the world and stop it entirely.

Pote, in their despair, began to fill everything in search for Kathe's familiar touch. The world began to crumble. Everything became overtaken by nothing. The Ancients scrambled to create the Divine out of Kathe's bones, sculpting different beings that would pump life into the world that Kathe had been the core of. They distracted Pote with their creations, showing how the Divine could simulate the touch that Kathe had brought. Pote withdrew slowly, allowing the Divine, born of Kathe, to continue their duties, and leaving behind the crater filled with their tears.
