The Estate of Ishmael Tenebris

If you have an invitation to the Estate and a promise of safe passage than Ishmael's palace is probably one of the safest places that you can spend the night in Thunder Dunes, vampires bein' almost as bound by the Old Ways as the Fae. Course, if you werent invited with guaranteed safe passage it more of a 50/50 depending on the date. And if you are stupid enough to break in thats on you, but do your business associates, friends and family a favor and remove anything with an identifyin' markins on it.
— Jasper Cameron, Leader of the Bronze Ravens.

Purpose / Function

To provide a place for Ishmael and his favored servants to live. It also provides a place for entertainment, balls, feasts, festivals, the occasional tournament, and of course on occasion hosts meetings of the various mercantile guilds that Master Tenebris has a vested interest in.

Alterations

The original Tenebris estate dates back to the founding of Thunder Dunes some 3000 years ago. Of course, the only original structure that still stands is the Mausoleum. Everything else has been destroyed at least once over the years. The main house have been demolished or looted at least 5 times in our recorded history, and acted as the last bastion for townspeople on 2 other occasions when the surrounding lands were less civilized.

Defenses

Ishmael of course keeps a full compliment of very well compensated (and perfectly mundane) guards and has the latest Alarm spell devised by the local mage to assist them in the case of a thief trying to sneak in. However, despite rumors to the contrary, there are no other means of supernatural defense on or around the estate, and the only mechanical traps present pre-date Ishmael's birth (as long ago as that may have been) and are located in and around the mausoleum. We would ask that people please stop spreading the rumors that the gargoyles are anything but decorated rain spouts, or that certain suits of armor are animated, or that some areas of the cellars are protected by magical passwords. (Although some of the wine may be worth the investment.) And honestly, wolves, in Thunder Dunes.   Furthermore, while Master Tenebris' nature is well known public knowledge, please do not come to us with an accusation every time someone goes missing or dies under mysterious circumstances. His position as one of the cities executioners (Officially held for 673 years) is well documented, and should no prisoners be scheduled for execution he as graciously allowed a member of the city guard to be present at all non-lethal feedings, something which many prisoners will volunteer for as it reduces their stay in our prison.   Also, no one has proved, not for lack of trying, that either his guest bedrooms or the mausoleum hold hidden chambers for visiting vampires to hide coffins. Both Ishmael and his servants are respected members of the community and deserve thanks for their contributions, not the least of which is Ishmael's continued training of each generation of doctors that we have become world famous for.
