Pandas

You must be lying, literally everyone likes pandas
— Jasper Cameron, Leader of the Bronze Ravens.
The bamboo forests of the Cloudtusk Plains aren't exactly the most ecologically diverse area on the planet. I guess that is what happens when the only plant around is glorified grass and the wholy area is practically clear-cut once every 7 years. However, besides the majestic Cloudtusks there is another animal that is synonomous with the plans, that being the panda in its many forms.   And what wonderful forms they are. Showing how over time a single species can adapt to fill various ecological niches, or showing how the gods may have gotten lazy after creating the Cloudtusks. Pandas fill nearly every roll in the Cloudtusk Plains that are filled by mammals elsewhere, from the small flying pandas that fill a similar function to squirrels, to the giant pandasloths that use their massive claws to dig into and break open root bundles after a cloudtusk has passed, or more often break into ant-hills and termite mounds. There are even predatory pandas that are probably best compared to predatory cats in other jungles or forests. Here we will attempt to introduce you to the more common types, although with how vast the Cloudtusk plains are there are likely more species than we know.

The Flying Panda

I mean, come on, just look at that guy, dont you want to just pick him up and put him in your pocket with an acorn to munch on. The flying panda is best described as a Squirrel, but not. It lives in the upper reaches of the bamboo forests, leaping from stalk to stalk. Eating mostly leaves and insects, with the occasional flower. They do have flaps of skin between front and hind legs, allowing them to glide over short distances, increasing the distance they can leap. Growing to about a foot long (not including the tail) and weighing just under a pound when full grown they are by far the smallest of the pandas on the plains. They also, unfortunately, do often times end up getting scooped up with the tops of bamboo when a cloudtusk grabs a snack.

Like Kefkejaco, I can't click the "Like" button for some reason. And that's a bummer, because I love, love, love this article!

Now it's time for the awkward wave.

Returning to this as I judge the category and have to call out one of my favorite lines: "I mean, come on, just look at that guy, dont you want to just pick him up and put him in your pocket with an acorn to munch on."   I didn't before, but now I do!

Now it's time for the awkward wave.

I really wish I had more time during SC to come back to this, but somewhere in July I blinked and suddenly it was the 27th.

Thanks! It was a fun thought experiment of "what if this bamboo forest was sort of like Australia evolution wise."
