You are now a journeyman, a craftsman on their way to being a master. Underneath any other goals or eccentricities you may have, you are also always looking to create your masterpiece- the thing that will prove to the other masters that you are one of them.   Skill Proficiencies: Diplomacy, Insight   Tool Proficiencies:  One Tool Kit represented by your chosen guild.   Languages: Choose one language based on the most common trade partners of your area.   Equipment: Tool Kit, merchant’s scales, appraisal kit, commoner’s clothing. Pouch containing 30 GP  Feature: Guild Gopher – The guilds will almost always have work for young members. Going to a local guild rep can yield potential rewards for things like: acquiring materials, securing trades, crafting items, or assassinating those who abuse the Guild Seals.   Special: Guild Apprentices become Journeymen upon adulthood. From there, the race is on to become Masters of their craft. To accomplish this, they must present their Masterpiece to a council of Masters, which are usually found in cities. Masterpieces are crafts that display the Journeyman is ready to become a Master, as in of a quality acceptable from someone with such a rank.    You must choose: Which Guild are you a member of?   d8 Special 1 I am a Stonemason 2 I am a Teamster 3 I am a Jeweler 4 I am a Weaponsmith 5 I am an Armorsmith 6 I am a Brewer 7 I am a Knifeman 8 I am a member of the Thieves’ Guild.   Suggested Characteristics   d8 Personality Trait 1 I am loyal to my guild, and will extoll its virtues over other, lesser guilds at every opportunity. 2 I am a greedy cuss, and I never EVER make a transaction without negotiation. 3 My first response to every situation is to use my chosen tools. I’m a hammer, and the world is full of nails. 4 Making things with my hands is the purest form of joy for me. 5 I will always stop to look at the craftsmanship of items or edifices I pass by. 6 I am always on the lookout for inspiration for my Masterpiece. 7 I put forward a silly and frivolous air to disarm those around me while I am secretly calculating. 8 I work hard, and I play hard.   d6 Ideal 1 Charity. I donate a portion of my profits and labor for a good cause. (Good) 2 Greed. I would charge my own mother double if I could get away with it. (Evil) 3 Free Market. My masterwork will be a thing dismissed as legend by future archaeologists. (Apathetic) 6 Advancement. My career is what really matters. (Any)   d6 Bond 1 My master still checks up on me, admonishing me whenever I step out of line. 2 I will make my master proud. 3 I owe the guild money for a loan I gambled away. 4 My master used to play me against another apprentice. We are still enemies today. 5 On the cusp of my adulthood, my master was assassinated. I will avenge him. 6 My master turned out to be a thief or con man. The stain still haunts me.   d6 Flaw 1 I was apprenticed against my will. I hate my career. 2 I am arrogant. Why haven’t they accepted my masterpieces?! 3 I am not above skullduggery and fraud to advance. It’s sort of my go-to actually. 4 I hate other guilds. Professional jealousy and abuse abounds. 5 I judge people who can’t craft anything with their own hands. 6 I think my customers and patrons are all rubes, and sometimes the contempt slips out.
