Fotakari

Fotokari means "fanaticism" in the goblin tongue. It's the code of honor strictly followed and enforced by Hobgoblins and Bugbears. The fact that the other Greenskins don't follow it doesn't prevent the hobgoblins from enforcing compliance anyway.

The Five Perimeters of Fotokari are as follows:

1. "Pros gur ushtarak" Be a stone to the legion. This is a double admonition and a reference to the whistle-stones used by both scouts and by hurlers in the legion at the outset of battles. It warns the legion of impending attack and heralds the death the legion will bring to its enemies. It is a symbol of vigilance against outsiders and merciless violence against its foes. Forms for Perimeter One are simple target practice with the sling and siege sling.

2. "Pros shati ushtar" Be a spear for the cohort. This instructs the adherent to defend offensively, much as a prickle-nest of spears presented by a cohort of hobgoblins would do. Any enemy attacking head-on is going to take losses just getting to grips with the greenskins, and Perimeter Two emphasizes this as a philosophy. Kill them before they can kill you. Perimeter Two forms have to do with drill and maneuver, as well as one and two handed spear combat.

3. "Pros kordh bosnauk" Be a sword for the hex. This instruction is to fight all-in. Hexes in the legion 'dance' when they fight, striking and withdrawing always with another fighter on the attack. This rain of blows only works if all fighters of the hex are confident that their fellows aren't going to hesitate. Forms for Perimeter Three involve leaning and striking as well as strike-and-withdraw drills.

4. "Pros skut gagna" Be a shield to your friend. This instruction is to offset the selfish, often spiteful nature of the legion. Though trust is important in any situation that requires cooperation, genuine connection is difficult in the obsessively paranoid greenskin society. Having at least one friend, the gagna, keeps each hobgoblin invested in the outcome beyond their own selfish needs. The forms of Perimeter Four are shield forms, usually using a weighted shield to build strength.

5. "Drepa opashni" Kill for yourself. This is a reminder of the inherent nature of the greenskin. Despite all of the above admonitions to be an effective cog in the war machine, at their hearts greenskins were bred for war. Hobgoblins fight as a legion because it makes them more effective, but in the end they really, truly enjoy the violence. Forms for Perimeter Five are unarmed combat forms using fists, elbows, knees, and teeth.
