Personal history

The first time Limiet entered the trainee's mess, he was a bit dissapointed. The white walls and the ridiculously bright lights were bad enough, but the furniture were also white. Even the kitchen was beige.
The empty tables seemed dead without a tablecloth or even some kind of decoration in the center. The chairs -he knew before he try them- were somehow uncomfortable and it was way to hot in there.
He wanted to live.
Then he heard a click and the lights dimmed a little. He turn towards the sound, to find a sweaty girl at the east door. He hadn't hear her when she entered. He couldn't hear her even now, except for the brief welcome, she was... quiet.
Before she reached the table he sat at, almost a dozen of students, and soon even more joined from the other entries. Two of them took the task of opening windows to let the breeze in. Some were as quiet as the first, some were incredibly noisy. All of them were sweaty and hungry and the vast majority seem tired.
He was overwhelmed by how peaceful their thoughts were, even as they cleaned weapons, struggle to get the best piece of meat or help each other to deal with minor wounds. Then he knew he had chose the right path. He was home.
