Spooktober 2022, Prompt 12: Slime
Ectoplasm is a type of slimy goop generated when a phantom comes in contact with an object purified by any religion. As phantoms most often make their homes in or near churches, ectoplasm is not considered a rare substance. Ectoplasm has proven to be a useful material for making alchemical potions.
Appearance
Ectoplasm most commonly appears as a branching glob of slime encompassing the piece of substrate the phantom contacted. It is usually colorless, but can be red, yellow, orange, green, or, in rare cases, blue.
To harvest ectoplasm, one must carefully scrape the entire glob off the substrate. This must be done without breaking the ectoplasmic membrane, or the liquid inside the glob will spill. An intact piece of ectoplasm can fetch between 2 soldi and 1 denier depending on color.
