History

Personal History

Not much is known of Nox and their short time in the human realm. They moved across France and the British isles with a small team of Knights while keeping base in Swansgard where they worked as an extension of the defense agency Neptune as the company specialized in moving Monarchs and Knights, keeping contracts with trading companies instead of claiming territory. However the reason for Nox’s restless nature and need to move had a source. Monarchs have different connections and sensitivity to their bonds and Nox freely welt the ebb and flow of emotions and thoughts from their Knights.

“Their highness was much like other Monarchs; confident on the verge of arrogance, respectful to the hierarchies and traditions of Fey, always looking to extend the power of their name. They were quiet effective in that last point, being a deadly hunter. What set Nox apart however was their insatiable curiosity and sensitivity. Naturally, their highness would never admit to it, or rather did not seem to care, that their mind was highly scattered and influenced by their Knights and bonds.”

The Tragedy

A woman and Knight of Nox by the name of Fiona Allaway developed feelings for her Monarch, feelings unusual for fey. Because of Nox sensitive nature they echoed these feelings back towards Fiona. To make matters more complicated Fiona already had a fiance she did not love but due to her being pregnant and therefore unable to work felt she needed to stay in her relationship to secure her and her child's future. Nox felt the love Fiona had towards her child and themselves and so forced the company to take care of Fiona and have her in a provided apartment away from her betrothed. Fiona taking this as the Monarch answering her feelings and spent her days besides Nox believing them lovers. Nox powered by Fiona's emotions gave her child part of their Monarch name to then make the child “thiers”. This however went against every Monarch tradition with Nox not being senior enough nor blessed by the other Monarchs to give of a name of power. Nox was later executed and Fiona gave away their child to Meigus, a half Monarch who had met with Nox on a few occasions and asked them to take their child somewhere safe. Meigus then used fey magic to seal away the name of the baby and found a willing family as Fiona was not strong enough to carry on without her love, the social ridicule and the loss of her job and home.
