As Echoes and Echo Decks became more popular around Idra, some found ways to make playing music from Echo Decks into it's own kind of performance, even manipulating the sounds to create new styles of music. These performers became known as Echo Deck Masters (EDMs) and the style of music was given the name Hip Hop for it's bounce-like energy.
