The end of an era

The odour of rum and beer steamed through the tavern “worlds end”, the background noise was full of talking, loud bellowing and the sound of toasting mugs. The members of the dreadnaught pirates were celebrating the disastrous judgment in their favour resulting in the acquittal of every last of their crew. After getting shot out of the sky by the marine last year many members feared the inevitable death considering all the murders, pillages and abductions they had committed but their divine protection from the god of thievery himself rendered every accusation irrelevant. The captain of the dreadnaught jumped with elegance on a desk holding his two beer mugs toward the sky preparing a speech. He was an imposing high grown desert elf with a large eyepatch covering a third of his face. Both of his formerly pointy ears were burned and chipped with large golden earrings. He wore a fancy long mantle and a big feathery hat. The captain raised his voice for a tremendous speech:
“We did it! Boys…”, the door suddenly was bashed in by a giant figure, “…what now? Oh, great…an eternal, what do you want stranger? Don’t you see we have a celebration here going on?”
The eternal entered the building and rose itself to its full height. This giant being was way over 4 meters tall and its metallic body was completely golden. With a cold metallic voice the eternal threw back its red cape and spoke up slowly but surely:
“I am here because of you…captain. Or should I better say the bane of my existence? You have to face real judgment and not this sloppy corrupt judgement system we have currently. That’s why I, Justitia, disrupt hereby your little party as you and every one of your vile club has yet to face the real deal! ME!“
Justitia smashed her big golden hands together and looked down to the pirate captain awaiting his response calmly. He may be caught off guard by Justitias speech or not, you can’t really say if that’s the case as a wide cocky attitude planted itself on the captains face:
“You chose the false enemy to face here Justitia, wasn’t it? I may not know you, but you are surely far away from home. So please do yourself a favour and plant your shiny butt anywhere else but in this tavern. I have to empty another dozen of mugs tonight, and I hate being interrupted while at it. Farewell.”
With these words, he paid no attention anymore to the giant figure. If he just would have checked Justitia’s face for a brief moment as her light-red shining eye turned into a dangerous dark shining blood-red. Her cold voice grew even colder as she began to talk again:
“Captain Sallowar, does this name ring a bell in your sick mind? Siranda Tector? Known to you by the disgraceful name,” a frustrated interference discharged over her speaker, “Slave 10?”
Sallowar pretended to think about it but only said with a messed-up grin:
“Not really, should I know her?”
An ear-deafening screech can be heard as Justitia scratched frustrated her face. Her speaker was nearly dead of frustration, but she was able to press out these words:
“Slave 10: Born on your ship in slavery, died on your ship in slavery. She was your plaything until her body was broken,” Justitias eye burned up in rage, ”until MY body was broken! Mind and spirit too! You took everything away from her…from ME and now you will pay for it! I will let you taste the pain and suffering I endured… and that combined into hourly long torture! Until Justice finally got served!”
Captain Sallowar, now very nervous, decided to play out his trump card. With an uncertain face he just stated:
“You know that we are under divine protection, right? Eradicate me and you get vaporized by the god of thievery himself!”
These words had a visible effect on Justitia. Her formerly burning eye shut down into a dark purplish-red, nearly pitch black. With a shaky voice she said to herself:
“Even the gods had no interest in my fate, they are our protectors, but they protect evil and let the good rot. This world is more broken than I thought…not restorable anymore…used up…”
With that realisation, the golden eternal snapped. In a blind rage, Justitia retracted her hands and two giant blinding blades grew out of her forearms; her back cracked open revealing a whole battery of rockets. She was now set to murder all her tormentors; at this moment she didn’t care about Justice anymore; all she wanted to see was her body turning just as red as her current vision. A massive hail of rockets got launched towards the unprepared crew who tried to escape the eternal's blind rage; many fell instantly, losing their life even before being able to say their last prayers. Others, including Sallowar, had more luck and managed to escape out of the backdoor leaving a raging titan behind. The cries of death and despair echoed through the tavern as Sallowar and his remaining man arrived under the clear night sky. For a moment they thought they were now safe, but a massive impact shook the very ground below them. A crimson-red eternal, way bigger than Justitia, occupied now their entire view. This quadrupedal giant looked down to the pirates in pity:
“You know its a true shame, I already wrote the record and in that paper, it states: 'No survivors'. Captain Sallowars pirate crew is no more.”
He pretended to think about it for a brief moment:
“No Vigor is not a liar; everything I write is the truth! We have a tiny problem there; don’t you think gentlemen? Just how to fix that? I wonder…”
Sallowar gulped as he saw Vigors emerald green eye lighting up who held now his arms in front of him. With the last smirk he thought that, that if this robotic face could grin, it surely would now. And then his entire world got set ablaze.
The infamous pirate crew of captain Sallowar was from this day onward never seen again terrorizing the sky or any other living being. The sky was now a tiny bit safer.
