Sawback Turtles
Sawback turtles are powerful flying turtles with an appetite for meat. traveling in a group referred to as a pod, they can be very dangerous to even large groups like merchant caravans.
Sawbacks require a lot of water, so do not stray more than 200 miles from the Captive Sea normally, though they have been blown off course and seen up to 500 miles out.
Sawbacks eat whatever they think they can kill, and they are efficient hunter with a high percentage of successful hunts.

Anatomy
Large flying turtle about the size of an elephant, with a prominent, saw shaped ridge running along it's back. coloration varies from light green to deep purple, but a sky blue underbelly is most common.

Sawbacks are carnivores, commonly preying on large, land-based herbivores and other flying turtles.

Social Structure
Sawbacks travel in groups of 4-8 individuals, but usually hunt alone. There is a pod patriarch that controls the group and coordinates hunts for larger flying turtles.
