The Collapse brought an end to the world as it was then known and led Kima and the rest of Eiros into The New Dawn, an age of reconstruction and rebirth.

The Collapse began in Kima when the dragons destroyed the Ačkan people. They then left Kima and attacked the countries located on Udira and elsewhere throughout the world. The destruction in Udira wasn't nearly as devastating as it was in Kima, as the beasts were weakened from the fighting in Kima and farther from their primary source of magic. They were eventually defeated, but the people of Udira were nearly annihilated and had to rebuild from the ground up.
