Entranced by the promise of a material that could keep magic at bay, thousands of people flocked to the Strica Seaboard in an attempt to dig up more aleksium. During this time, the ore was also found in the nearby Barrenwood. Some wanted it for nefarious purposes, others wanted it to study it, and mages wanted to stay as far away from it as possible.
