Golem Item in Kima | World Anvil

Golem

Forged from mojksium, or "living metal," the golem was predated by homunculi, tiny, metal beings that served the Ačkan people. Due to its late construction, the golem has never actually been powered up. In fact, no Kimans are even aware of its existence…for now.   The golem is an enormous, metal figure built to look like an Ačka, with four arms and two legs. Its face is featureless, instead just a smooth plate of metal. A large dragonglass sphere sits in its abdomen, serving as the power source. It can only be powered by a massive magical force, such that no creature but dragons are capable of. Given that it was constructed to fight dragons, its inventor also created a power source: Alda's Sigil.

History

When it became evident that war with the dragons was imminent, Alda moved their workshop to the Kačkan Abyss. Here, they continued their work with dragonglass and mojksium in hopes to have a chance at defeating the dragons. Months passed as they worked on their projects, all of them ultimately leading to the golem.   City by city, the Ačkan civilization fell. Some fled to the Abyss, where the knew Alda to be, and were accepted. Alda swore up and down that they'd be ready when the dragons came, that they had a weapon even the beasts couldn't stand against.   They were wrong.   The dragons came sooner than they anticipated. Their numbers were weakened, depleted. Only a few remained. The golem wasn't ready, but they fought with other inventions as Alda continued their work. They managed to fell one dragon, and it collapsed in front of the entrance to their cave. In a rage, the ones that were left ruined the entrance, causing a cave-in on the remaining Ancients. Then they stood guard, ready to destroy any soul that dared try to escape. With no hope of escape, the Ačka were twisted into horrendous beings of nightmares, gone mad, one by one, until only Alda remained.   Alda finished their work on the golem, but by then, they were too weak to even attempt to power it. They spent their final, conscious days in that workshop, surrounded by their too-late
