The Star Sign

The Star Sign is a constellation comprised of the five stars Leng, Rhyl, Celene, Yuthog, and Kaddath. Together, they form the shape of St. Cuthbert's blade of justice crossed by Melora's unerring bow.  This constellation acted as a guiding beacon pointing toward the horizon where the fleet of the Divine Coalition would find the prophesied holy land.  On the eve of the great fleet's journey, the Divine King Bartholomew beseeched the gods for guidance, and so Boccob, god of divination, placed it in the night sky to show the way.  Since the conquest of the continent and the establishment of the Holy Land of Kiantan, the Sign has appeared in every night regardless of season and stands as proof of the gods vigilance and guidance over the its people.   However, the Star Sign has begun to change.  Over the last three hundred years, several have begun to shine in a sickly green color and the form of the constellation itself is shifting as the stars seem to be moving.  The changes are slow and most have only recently noticed the changes, but combined with the events of the Great Calamity, it has increased the feelings of uncertainty and fear in the populace.  Astromancers and high ranking diviners have been studying the changes for a century as they noticed much sooner than the general populace, but they have said little in the way of answers.   Boccob's high priest, Bilgthus of the Third Eye, has secluded himself for the last 3 years in an attempt to commune directly with his god in search of answers considering the divine constellation.  During this self imposed seclusion, Bilgthus has only allowed proscribed priests to bring him food and drink as well as other necessities and to carry any answers he receives.  These answers have been few, and unsatisfying leading to further panic.

Oh, it's never good news when the stars start to change, is it?   Do they have any idea what it might be? Any popular rumors making the rounds?

Each of the gods has a constellation all their own and some have begun to disappear and reappear at random. The Great Calamity caused a major shift in the world and some people have started to believe they may be abandoning it. If I told anymore I'd venture into GM secret territory, and I do plan on using this as a base for a DND campaign. Sorry, but thanks for showing interest!
