Vieta Airship Station
The Vieta Airship Station is built on a hillside at the edge of the city.
The station is enormous, its length the size of a football field and nearly just as tall. Airships, when they are in dock, hover behind and above the station's entrance. The station is designed in the style of Victorian architecture, but the building is made out of a clear substance that looks like glass. Tiny white lights line the seams and ribs of the building.
Inside the building, visitors and travellers can see the lights through the glass from inside. At night, the stars can be seen in spite of the lights that hang from the central rib of the station's ceiling. Smells of sweets and food from multiple restaurants hang in the air. The sound of teenagers laughing mingle with the sound of customers entering shops. An electronic board carries the next arrival time of an Airship from Cathay. Walking into the station, there are shops and restaurants lining the station's length.
Standing in the entrance, you can see the elevators opposite the entrance. The elevator only goes up to the Airship platform. The elevator opens out onto a platform. The platform is so far up that the city of Vieta is several hundred feet below.
From the night streets of Vieta, the airship station built on a hill above the city looks like a magical building, the walls of glass only outlined by strings of lights. The lights and colors of the shops and restaurants completely visible to people looking up at the building. When an Airship is docked, the colorful red and gold fabric of the balloon is faintly lit by the lights from inside the station.
For the AGP, the Vieta Airship Station was a statement of the wealth and power that they have managed to accumulate over the past 100 years. Vieta may be just a couple of years away from being a settlement, the rest of the continent of Coracle may be a wilderness, but Vieta and the Vieta Airship station is a promise of what the AGP plans for Coracle and the rest of Kiannon.
