Personal history
Actë was not born a princess, which is an enormous departure for the city of Crotera, which has some of the most stable inherited authority in all of Hellenis. The future queen was a bastard, born not even to one of her father's consorts or a respected courtesan but a baseborn whore plying her trade at a hunting lodge the king liked to frequent. Crotera's nobility are very stable and insular but it's based entirely on blood and not social status so Actë was treated as a daughter, raised in the palace alongside her brothers and sisters, even specifically noted at the time as spoiled by her father. Technically she was even in the line of succession at that age, just behind so many siblings born of courtesans, concubines, and wives that she didn't get the title. All that would change when it became apparent that she was the first in over five hundred years to inherit her family's legacy in full. The blood of the first werewolf flows through her veins, and the curse, or blessing as her family view it, is so strong she is indistinguishable from a first generation descendent, perhaps even rivalling the man himself. This carried her to royalty and her charisma and talent for administration saw her ascend to the throne.
Education
Actë was denied nothing in her childhood, including her education. The best tutors were provided at the palace in her early life, and though the city's negative reputation made attending the University of Oros was deemed to dangerous, but the expense to allow her to attend the Imperial University was met despite her distance from the throne. She graduated with honors from both the War College and the College of Statecraft.
