Nisecclesia

Purpose / Function

The Nisecclesia is the beating heart of The New Canon Church of Orion, by far its largest and most impressive edifice, in addition to housing the entirety of the High Ecclesiarchy, serving as the focal point through which the faithful interact with the Archbishop, and being the location where the first secret meetings and eventually the proclamation about splitting from The Orthodox Church of Orion took place. The overwhelming majority of the church's decisions and positions are made within its walls, and it serves by far the largest parish every Templeday in addition to accommodating the enormous swelling in attendance for every holy day and festival as the faithful flock to the holy city. Importantly, the Nisecclesia is for the mortal affairs of the church, any revelations or other interactions with the heavens or the saints instead occur most often at the Dawn Altar, but even in the case of unplanned visitations and the like, none have ever occurred at Nisecclesia, instead being localized at smaller churches or at the private home of one or more important clergy.

Alterations

Apart from re-carving the nameplate when the faith was split, there has been no alteration to the divinely wrought structure since it was first laid upon Khthon's surface during the miracle called forth by Allfather Galerius Titus Capito.

Architecture

Like the rest of the original architecture of Mourninghold the Nisecclesia is a paragon of the Albic style, rather than importing design from imperial architecture it seems that whatever angel or saint answered the call looked at the style of the locals and simply elevated and advanced it to a divine conclusion. To the layman this mostly expresses itself in more squares and rectangles in the columns and spires, sharper points at the peaks of those spires and on sections of roof, and stained glass rather than the often open windows found in imperial style churches.
