Personal history
Machaon was a large, strong child who grew into a larger and stronger adult. In his younger days he was one of the most impressive among all the children of Coloss, and the champion of nearly every sport he participated in. Today, he spends most of his time as the single least physically impressive storm giant on Khthon, and because of this is among the most respected members of his race. The High Priest of Coloss receives a particular boon as a legacy of the time when relations were much better with his brother-god Kyzu: all wounds and ailments are cleansed with the coming of the dawn. The skin, bones, and organs of a storm giant are enormously valuable in the practice of alchemy, and so the head of the Giant faith has himself vivisected alive over the course of the day every day and either donates his own body parts to worthy causes, or sells them and puts the money to work improving the lives of the less fortunate. All this is a personal crusade undertaken by the giant himself, not at all expected of Coloss' representative on Khthon. Despite the various yet recurring handicaps he suffers, Machaon also performs the many duties of his role admirably. He is both the spiritual father of the deeply declining race of giantkind and the highest authority on Khthon in the name of the divine patron of Law living in a republic which is obsessed with the rule of law. This is all to say that he is a busy giant. On those rare occasions when he is not performing some duty or pursuing his personal commitment, he is known to enjoy rock climbing on the sheer face of Kí̱poní̱sos, leaping into the water below when he reaches the top.
