Personal history

Amompharetos owes his success first to the meritocratic nature of Libria's hierarchy, allowing a born peasant to rise high with the right skills, and also almost paradoxically to the capriciousness of its new king. He is the newest member of the Upper Chamber of the Mage Council, inheriting his position after his predecessor insulted the king and shortly thereafter disappeared. He's spent his long career in politics seconded to the Master of Trade and watched like a hawk due to great skill tempered by a history of indiscretion and low level corruption. He now finds himself named Lawmaster, Master of Trade, and Chief Tax Collector of the new kingdom, nearly free of oversight and wielding far greater political power, but also with firsthand experience of the consequences of displeasing the monarch.

Education

Amompharetos attended Libria's school for the poor, and his high performance allowed him to qualify for ever increasing quality of institutions each year, and eventually found himself rubbing shoulders with the most promising children in the Magocracy.
