Vampires & Dahmpir
Vampires are a scourge on the living, using the mortal folk of Khinarzi as their food, vampires prowl the night hunting the unwary and vulnerable. Most vampires will feed on blood, however some smaller vampiric bloodlines will feed on other parts of the living. Vampires all burn in sunlight and do not cast shadows or reflections.
Most vampires are born by having been killed by a vampire and risen as a vampire spawn, under the control of the vampire that killed and bit them. If a spawn then drinks the blood of a true vampire they will in turn become a true vampire f that chosen bloodline. Different bloodlines have different powers and physical aspects as well as different cultures and things they consume.
Every vampire remains bound to its resting place, where it must rest by day. If a vampire didn’t receive a formal burial, it must lie beneath a foot of earth at the place of its transition to undeath. A vampire can move its place of burial by transporting its coffin or a significant amount of grave dirt to another location. Some vampires set up multiple resting places this way.
The first vampires were created from those mortals who wiling chose to join the Dark One. As punishment for their betrayal, Sepikstola cursed the vampires that they could never set foot under the sun's rays ever again. Many myths after this point have been spread about vampires, from the idea vampiric bloodlines enter a location without invitation, or that vampires cannot pass over running water. The validity of these any many more unique and obscure local beliefs is unclear at this time, for the Dark Lord rarely sends out his most prized and elite agents.
