Kenku

It is said the kenku of Khinarzi, are children of the Great Raven Spirit. In the earl days of the Dawn era when the pantheon were still crating the many folk who populate the plane today, the Great Raven came before the god and petitioned them to create kin in their image, who could walk on two legs and converse with the spirit. The gods chose to accept this request and so from the Raven's essence came the kenku.
Unfortunately at some point a great curse befell the kenku during the Dawn Era, some believe it was the the breaking of the Great Spirits by the Dark One and the creation of lycanthropes, others believe it was a curse inflicted on a multiplanar level to all creatures similar to the kenku, though what being would be powerful to invoke such a curse and what great crime would warrant it is unknown.
What is known is the kenku of Khinarzi seem different enough the curse only affected them in two ways instead of the usual three. First, the kenku’s beloved wings withered and fell away from their bodies, leaving them bound to the earth. Second and finally, the curse took away their voices.
Now while no kenku alive today remembers he joy of fight it is an instinctual memory something woven into their very being that they must once again fly. This has led many kenku to move to the mountains, jungles and forests of Khinarzi in order to be as close to the sky as possible.
Those who reside in the Kingdom of Mystria try their hardest to correct the curse by finding the Great Raven Spirit in the hopes they may be able to remove the curse or mitigate its effects. Though none of the Great Spirits not bound to the Dark Lord have been seen in millennia, they do keep searching for the ability to fly again would be worth any cost.
