Jenkalka

The Dread Wolf, The Great Traitor, The Father of Werewolves

Jenkalka was one of the ancient Great Spirits of Molba, and as such was one of the elders for the druid circle of the moon. When the Dark One came and launched the first Shardowmarch, Jenkalka and his circles joined the armies amassed against the Legions of Darkness. He w a fury upon the battlefield slaying great hordes alone, though in his bloodlust there were times where it seemed he would continue his frenzy attacking his own allies.   Then the Dark One took to the field, the great spirits sought to fight him together though in his rage Jenkalka rushed ahead of his allies, this disorder led to a swift victory for the Dark One. He broke the spirits and then cursed them and through them, their druid circles. The druids immediately under the light of the moon that had before empowered their circles now instead turned them into monsters, the first lycanthropes.   Meanwhile the Dark One, called upon Jenkalka’s ego and turned him against his kin, it was their fault slowing him down that he was defeated. In time Jenkalka willingly became a servant of the Dark One and his followers joined the legions as shock troops, fully committed and devoted to their spirit and now the Dark One.   With the fall of the Dark One, Jenkalka led the legions back to the Shadowlands, where he aided the Dark Lord in keeping caged the less willing Great Spirits. Since then, the Jenkalka has been seen only in a few Shadowmarches, and in those occasions it has taken great effort and sacrifice to drive him back to his master. More often the Fangs of Jenkalka, his chosen lycanthropes lead raids or even Shadowmarches against the Five Kingdoms. It is said his most trusted Fangs carry a blade formed from one of his literal fangs and coursing with a part of his power and the blades also allow Jenkalka to sense what the wielder senses and influence the world without having to take to the field in person.   There is said in some circles a prophecy of the fates written long ago that one day Jenkalka will devour the goddess Luna and plunge the night into eternal darkness just as the Dark One devoured the Sun god at the end of the Dawn Era. Some counter, saying it already has come to pass but it was not Luna but her twin daughters whose shattered corpses can be seen in the night sky above.
