The motivation behind building Khalan
I want to write something interesting that indulges my passions not fit in my other worlds, i.e. a less advanced and more high fantasy experience.
The goal of the project
I am hoping to give my readers a feeling of grandness by focusing upon a wide array of expereinces, even if the vast majority of my current work is focused in one small region of an empire.

My world is high(?) fantasy. High fantasy with a weird cross of enlightenment & renaissance era technology fuelled by magic
Reader Experience
Xharan is meant to feel exciting but dangerous. It is meant to have dark aspects, but to have a silver-lining of hope.
Reader Tone
Using the Tone & Setting Alignment by Jakob Bolt, I am hoping to make a world somewhere on the edge of Knightcore which is described as:
Hanging on a thin thread between hope and despair; given enough effort, groups of indviduals may be able to make a dramatic effect on the world. Even if true permanence is just beyond reach
Character Agency
I want to make the world have a decently epic feeling to it, so the characters I desire to write will have a decent amount of agency to change their circumstances (especially when working together). However, since I prefer to write darker stories, this change will not always be good.
