The Mipanu Faith

When I travelled to this place upon marriage, and in my Otlera summers, it became so clear to me that spirituality - faith in the Mipanu gods and way of life - is for granted. A politician can call upon Kastav for a victory like how a home, my people may call on lilac flowers for good fortune.

Gods & the Divine

The Mipanu Pantheon is the best location if curious about the Gods!

Gods

There are many Gods to the Mipanu pantheon but outside of a cult or niche situation, most will turn to the fourteen major Gods of the pantheon. Most offer flowers or small food items such as cakes or wine. But on ritual days could even sacrifice beasts.   a Scholar's description
He who is meant to be of the sky roams the land looking for his [tooltip:Zaba]wife, whose hair created rivers upon which Vala's men now plant besides and Dyshe's ride leading her merchant missions from Tikan to Sìtilmi.   Idva wanders to and fro, taking Magic and leaving it only in our pottery and causing Shau to shout and her hounds to pour rain for the Heavans. Some try to find him in amongst the brush, but merely find Henezu, the wild man, hunting with his wives unbeholden to no creed or code, Gods' or mans'. He ignores all, no matter the council that is held and the laws made with Kastav at the rotten helm, in Zaba's halls where the virtouous and the Gods watch on.   Byansa calls no more. Why must we argue about the Wild Man when mothers and sons need our gaze more, she says with her deeps eyes a-flood with tears

Divine Figures

Heroes

Heroes come about not from the Uzesheka but from folklore more often than not, so are local and sect-based. Ghenan and Puhan the Patient may be mythological (or in the case of the latter, highly exaggerated) but the Otleri might just consider the pair normal men rather than working by the Gods.

Prophets

There are 14 recognised prophets. All authors of a book within the Uzesheka. Some Gods have sent more prophets into this world than others.

Taya 'the Prophetess'

The Uzesheka

The Uzesheka is a collection of 46 books spanning mythology, history and law. It can be roughly divided into 5 categorories of books:
  • Mythological Books (20)
  • Divine Revelations (14)
  • The Laws (6)
  • The Procephies (1)
  • The Hymns & Wise Words (5)

  • Though the printing press has made books easy to copy and spread, every worship house always has a hand-written copy.

    Religious Doctrine

Divine Voices. Seeing the divine is uncommon, especially after all of Idva's Mourning, but hearing them compell you is. And when you hear the Gods, you cannot stop yourself.

Evangelism. Vayashe is characterised as the highest moral judge. Idva may forgive you transgressions through prayer and Kastav by law but only by iron and suffering will you be free of Vayashe's vice. He is particularly strict on those who could have spread the word and those who turned away, did not hear, or did not listen.

Accepting the Personal Law. Kastav's laws only show how to be a judge, not to how to live a moral life. He came to realise that, and inspired a prophet - Ransha to create the Personal Law, a general code of morality that should be followed by every man who proffessed himself a Mipani. It is from this Hafai created her Womanly Virtues.

Amtar as the Language of the Gods. If there is any taboo within Mipanu it is to translate the Uzesheka out of Amtar. The name of the document may change from place to place but the words in Amtar are sacred for they are born of the prophets.

The defferance to a Kagshilo Atyab. Most of the larger sects have a clergy body to route out heresy and debate on the correct sheperdhing for their people.

Huma Lis. Much charity work is done through the worship-house because of Huma Lis, the.

Certain sects of Mipanu refrain from eating chicken. Though she is a river godess Zaba is often associated with hens. Even if she lies asleep and dormant, she is still a watchful mother figure and so it makes sense to respect her animal.

The article carries a great air - a touch of mysticism with the many books and the doctrines. It is a lovely hint.
