Appointment
A Knight is raised up for one of various reasons: a great deed performed, a great work done for the Sisterhood, they are judged worthy of the rank or they are powerful enough to belong to that rank.
Duties
Their duties are aiding the Adepts and sending knights off to wander. They may sometimes take on a student, but it isn't common.
