His wings never fully recovered from the shipwreck that landed him on Alastea. He can fly, but it's a struggle for him to get airborne. It helps if he has something tall to jump from, such as a tall tower or a dragon.

His Grandfather Salaethil is Anghiel's younger brother. He visits the Obsidian Tower quite often and spends a lot of time with Anghiel, thus knowing the ins and outs of siathi society better than he otherwise would.
His father is a silk merchant so he does a lot of the ‘leg work’ for him. He travels around between Gira’loyis Province, Kimbala, and the Ryuutenshi Valley. Education
It was expected for him to take over his father's job as a silk merchant. As such, his education focused on math, languages, law, and speechcraft. He has a good head for numbers, but he is terrible at convincing people to buy things.
Employment
After returning to Salcreria from Alastea, he went north with Deiwynn to Ana-Lashann, much to the dismay of his parents. They sent him multiple letters asking and then outright demanding that he come home. Becoming a rider didn't do much to stop those letters. At least, not the the first year at least.
