Iron Valleys

A jagged scar on the earth, Iron Valley stretches like a broken spine between the cliffs of the northern wastes. The air hangs heavy with the scent of rust and scorched metal, while twisted hulks of Old World machinery rise like the bones of some ancient beast. The ground is a brittle crust of iron-rich soil, fractured by deep fissures that ooze with toxic sludge. Pools of acid bubble quietly in the lowlands, hissing softly when the wind shifts.

"You want to head into Iron Valley? You must’ve baked your brain in the sun. Listen close.... this ain’t a treasure hunt. It’s a death sentence.   Iron Valley is a wound in the world. Jagged cliffs of black iron stretch as far as the eye can see, like the gods themselves tore open the earth and left it to rust.
The place is littered with Old World wreckage, sure.
Machinery no one’s laid eyes on in centuries, half-buried under slag and bone.
But don’t let the scrap fool you, nothing in that valley is worth dying for.   The rain there… it’s not like any weather you’ve known. It falls without warning, silent, slick, and it burns. I mean really burns.
Took shelter under an old hull once, thought I was safe.
Next thing I know, the rain’s eating through the metal like a starving beak thing.
My coat? Gone in seconds. My skin? Still itches like it’s on fire. Lost two fingers on my left hand, melted clean off.   And the ground? Don’t trust it. Pools of sludge bubble up from beneath, and the fumes will choke the breath right outta your lungs. I saw a whole scouting party go blind just walking too close to one of those pits. Not sure they ever made it back.   Some say there’s a research station buried deep in the valley, Tech Hunter legends talk about a place called Ashfall, but whatever’s down there, it’s not worth the pain. The ones who go looking? They don’t come back. Or if they do, they’re not the same.   I barely crawled out alive, and every morning, I wake up feeling that sting in my bones. So take it from me, if you value your skin, stay clear of Iron Valley. Whatever secrets it holds, they’re buried for a reason."
