Isholn is an ugly, dirty city. I don't see why anyone would go there, if it weren't for the fact that it has the best markets in the world. Anything you want, you can find on those foul streets.

Demographics

All races and walks of life are present in this city.

Government

The city elects a Merchant Lord every 10 years, though for the past 30 it has been the same man.

Defences

Isholn maintains a small standing army in the form of a city guard, and the guilds regularly train their apprentices in the basics of warcraft should the city be attacked.

Industry & Trade

As the trade hub of the continent, Isholn has every possible good to offer. The fertile plains around them allow for good crops to grow, but exotic foods and goods of all types are brought in and shipped out through the rivers. Grain animals such as Oxen and Horses are also raised here. Cotton fabric is also manufactured here.

Architecture

Despite the large fields close to the city, it has been built very much on top of itself, as everyone strives to live near the rivers that are the source of prosperity in the city. Thus buildings are built on top of each other and constructed largely of clay with some wood and stone supports used sparingly as there are no natural sources of either close by.
