The Daikodama

The Daikodama are higher level Kodama that are in charge of specific magical floral areas of Reikai. They lead other kodama to maintain these regions. They serve a similar function to Tengu but with some differences. The Tengu have more established societies and are greater in number. The Tengu also have more elemental magic, specifically surrounding wind, while the Daikodama and those Kodama that work for them are far more focused on plant based magic. Additionally Tengu are more focused on non-magical forests in the material world, while Kodama exist moreso in Reikai. Kodama tend to be more simple and unambitious, even mroeso than the already reserved and contented Tengu. They care only for nurturing and protecting their plants, and are unwilling to concern themselves weith anything outside of their purpose.
