Random Mask Swap (Start of Each Turn) - At the start of each of Sanyu's turns, he randomly swaps to a new mask (roll d6), triggering one of the following cartoonishly over-the-top emotional battlefield effects:   1. SADNESS

  • Sanyu begins crying so hard it creates a flood of tears.
  • The battlefield becomes difficult terrain as water rises to knee height.
  • Creatures without a swim speed must make DC 14 Strength saves to move more than 10 ft.
  • His own mask wails with sloppy, bubbly sobs.
  •   2. RAGE
  • Sanyu’s face gets red, steam whistles out his ears, and his masks start screaming in unison.
  • He gains advantage on attacks, and all creatures within 10 ft of him take 1d8 thunder damage from yelling.
  • He must immediately charge the nearest creature.
  •   3. JOY
  • Maniacal, euphoric laughter erupts. Glitter cannons go off for no reason.
  • Each creature must make a DC 14 Wisdom save or start dancing uncontrollably (can’t take reactions for 1 round).
  • Sanyu levitates 5 ft and spins in the air while playing a kazoo solo.
  •   4. FEAR
  • Sanyu shrieks and climbs an invisible wall.
  • He casts Mirror Image and runs up the nearest tree or wall regardless of combat logic.
  • All enemies must make a DC 13 Wis save or be frightened for 1 round because “if HE’S scared, what are we fighting??”
  •   5. LOVE
  • He blushes intensely. Heart-shaped ofuda rain from the sky.
  • All creatures within 20 ft must make a DC 14 Charisma save or be Charmed for 1 round.
  • While charmed, they can’t attack or cast spells targeting anyone except Sanyu.
  •   6. CONFUSION
  • Sanyu spins in place and becomes his own enemy.
  • For 1 round, Sanyu treats the closest puppet as hostile and attacks them.
  • If there are no targets, he attacks a tree and dramatically faints for 6 seconds.

    Emotion Slap - Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) force damage

  • Damage type is the emotion of his current mask (e.g. thunder for rage, cold for sadness, radiant for love, necrotic for fear, fire for joy, and force for confusion).
  •   Maskplosion (1/Day) - Sanyu rips off every mask and throws them in the air like a confetti bomb.
  • Each creature within 20 ft is affected by a random emotion effect (roll 1d6 for each).
  • Sanyu collapses face down, arms stretched out, for 1 round.
