Shadow elves
Introduction
Children of Siona, goddess of magic and death, the Shadow Elves are a rare and elusive race in the modern age. Though often mistaken for their more nature-oriented elven cousins, the Shadow Elves are a distinct and mysterious people. Unlike other elves, they are more secluded, and tales speak of their once-great civilizations hidden in the shadows. These unique societies have long since fallen into ruin, leaving behind only ancient relics, fading oral traditions, and a dwindling number of their kind. Today, the remaining Shadow Elves often blend into the larger cities of the world, passing unnoticed as ordinary elves, their true heritage hidden from all but the most discerning eyes.
Appearance
Shadow Elves are tall and slender, with an almost otherworldly grace. Their limbs are long and delicate, with nimble fingers well-suited for intricate tasks and arcane gestures. Their skin is pale, often appearing nearly translucent, and their hair flows like an ethereal veil, ranging in color from shimmering silver to pure white. Over their extended lifespans, Shadow Elves experience little physical change after reaching adulthood, around 150 years old, maintaining their youthful appearance for centuries. Shadow Elves have lifespans nearly double that of their elven cousins, living up to 1,000 years on average. However, their low rate of reproduction has contributed to their dwindling numbers over the past millennia, making them an increasingly rare sight in the world.
Alignment and Religion
Due to their extended lifespans, most Shadow Elves tend toward neutrality in their outlook on life. They view existence as a long, contemplative journey, one that ultimately prepares the soul to merge with the cosmos in the embrace of Siona. This belief in the inevitability and power of entropy shapes their understanding of the world, seeing life and death as natural, interconnected forces.
Shadow Elves have a deep spiritual connection to the themes of death and transformation. They revere Siona not as a bringer of an inevitable end, but as a guide who leads souls to their next phase of existence. Their worship is often introspective and personal, with rituals that honor the passage of time, the fading of life, and the eventual return to the universe.
While they do not shun other deities, their primary devotion lies with Siona, and their cultural practices often reflect their acceptance of death as a natural and sacred part of life.

I like the backstory and shadow elves and their abilities (-2 CON might be too much?). A shadow elf arcane trickster would be a strong class. I am working on a shadow elemental spellcaster class; mostly debuffs and crowd control. I also wanted to ask about the other elves in your world; are their wood elves, high elves etc or maybe your working on another subtype?
Hey, thanks for your comment! Given the fact they get +2 in both Int and Cha I believe the -2 in Con balances things (I based the abilities on pathfinder 1e elves where the lose con and gain int and dex). The class you want to built sounds intriguing, will it be a full class or prestige? As for more elves in my world... yes, there are more variations. The main one are high elves and I'm planning on 4 more related with the elements :D
Come visit my world of Kena'an for tales of fantasy and magic!
Or, if you want something darker, Crux Umbra awaits.
Hi, your right, I didn't notice the other +2 stats. I havent played dnd in years; I got back into RPGs when I discovered soloRPG; then I thought I wanted to write a story; and then as I made up magic systems I added stats and looked into RPGLit. This class I'm working on is called Umbral Seer; I had a daydream for a character intro and tried to build a unique magic system sort of as an experiment. I'll copy/paste the article. Oh and the warlock class is brand new to me; so I have tinkered with some of the abilities because its a new system. I looked into dnd 5e, pathfinder and DC20 and they all have pros and cons. Maybe after I get enough of my world built; I can test drive some of my creations.
Not sure if this will work, here's a link to the Umbral Seer Class: [Umbral Seer Spell in Lands and Lore - Realms of Uzul | World Anvil](https://www.worldanvil.com/w/lands-and-lore---realms-of-uzul-sageseeker/a/umbral-seer-spell)
2nd attempt: https://www.worldanvil.com/w/lands-and-lore---realms-of-uzul-sageseeker/a/umbral-seer-spell I'll work on the character next; she is more complex than I had planned.
