  Background Story:
From the earliest times, when the world was masked in shadow and darkness, the Lady Suna strived to shine light upon those places that desperately needed light. Within this chaos, her light was easy to find by those of the earliest bloodlines. The humanoids would flock to her, where ever she be, to learn how to bring light and illumination to their realms. The powers of darkness, seeing their might challenged, sent shadows to stop her, but were defeated by her solar aura.
The people were pleased with Suna, their crops could grow, and warmth filled them. Suna’s power grew with this newfound devotion. The forces of darkness were very angry, and awoke an ancient that had been sleeping for untold time, named Kozgoroth, the tainted one. They sent Kozgoroth to destroy the illuminated one. During this battle, Kozgoroth used his poisonous essence to taint the light and pollute it, and nearly succeeded, if not for the followers of Suna and their devotions bringing her power to destroy Kozgoroth, leaving only his black heart behind.
After learning of who sent the ancient after her, Suna mounted a chariot, pulled by a pair of enchanted stallions and took for the heavens, to search around the world for the darkness, seeking out the darkness. From the realms, however, all they see is the wheel of light moving across the sky toward the darkness.
Worshipping: Most of the rituals of Suna involve lighting great fires in the dark places. However, the Midsummer Solstice is of great importance to the followers of Suna, as the longest day gives them extra strength. Conversely, the winter solstice is a day of importance as well, as they are reminded by their faith that the powers of darkness are strong indeed, and must constantly be battled.
Omens and Signs: Many times, visions are sent to the devout followers of Suna within the flames of their fires.
  Artifacts:
Everlasting burning rods are all actually very minor holy items to the god Suna. Other items of interest however, include the Lantern of Suna.
Lantern of Suna: More than one of these lanterns is said to exist, however, they typically only find their way to the highly devout followers of Suna. The lantern itself amplifies the power of a priest, and acts like a holy symbol for purposes of an implement.
Lantern of Suna Epic Level The lantern of Suna acts as a +5 Holy Symbol Enhancement: To attack and Damage rolls Critical: +5d6 damage, +5d10 damage vs. creatures of shadow and darkness Property: Illuminates an area 50 squares in burst, and cannot be turned off or darkened. Property: Does an extra 2d10 vs. creatures that only come out at night. Property: Immune to effects of cold. Property: You cannot be blinded. Property: Daily; Invert Resistance (Sorcerer Utility 10 power) Goals of the Lantern: To bring the light into the area of shadows, and to protect the light from the powers of darkness.
Ceremonies/Holidays: Of course the midsummer solstice is one holiday which is generally celebrated by the light of a grand pyre or a lantern, depending upon the area and a great feast, Reenactments of the great battle between Kozgoroth and Suna are usual favorites of these followers. In the solstice of winter, or the shortest day… most the day is spent fasting, until late at night, when the lantern or pyre is lit, and a feast is delivered as well as a reinforcing speech on the important of staying vigilant and protecting the realm from falling into the hands of shadow once more.
  Sects:
The Warriors of Brightwall is a special sect of combat followers of Suna, comprised mainly of battle clerics and paladins. They represent the strength of the official body of the church. It is a great honor to serve and they are highly regarded amongst the nations to worship the sun.
The Everlasting Light is a secret order that usually works alone. They are comprised solely of Avenger class followers that are considered to be strange, even when they are around the clergy of their own faith. They only take orders from Suna, either from flame visions or dreams. Alignments favored by Suna is any good aligned character.
The Hierarchy of the temple of Suna is reflected as such:
Altar boy or Deacon: Lowest Level
  Friars or Priests: Mid Level
Bishop or Patriarch or Radiant: High Level
Arch Radiant:The High priest of the Temple
The ceremony celebrating the victory over Kozgoroth the black is known as the Day of Resplendence. On this day, celebrated with lots of alchohol, the Goddess Suna is honoured for her victory of the tainted one.
Aphorisms and Words of Wisdom: The light be with you.
Noteable Minions or NPCs:   Ythiseta Talari, Human High Priestess if Suna.   Ythiseta was an orphan at a young age, as was very sure death was coming to take her, when she was miraculously spared by a paladin of Suna. The paladin decided to take her as a sidekick for a while, always being very careful to keep her from harm (though they landed in harms way all the time anyhow) taught her the ways of the order. Through her travels, till she was 19, she met many priests and paladins and other followers of her faith. After becoming 19, she was inducted as a cleric in the order, and paired up with a roommate, Jasmine Bloodchanter. The two together adventured and converted many and did great things in service of their deity. Upon receiving the news that she had become high priestess, her friend had changed, and Ythiseta fears that the light no longer graces her best friend.
Olarav Moonfalcon, Drow Avenger in service of Suna.   Olarav of the deep, was your typical drow citizen, who hated the world above, and quite frankly, was not too thrilled with the world of darkness he lived in. In his many years of his youth, he knew there had to be something more. For several years, the feeling that he did not belong down there continued until one day, he was wondering through a cave and a surprise flame occurred. At first, he thought it was just a spark that had triggered a pocket of gas to ignite, which sometimes occurred within the deep. But then the flames began to swirl, and surround him, and engulf him, and then the flames penetrated his mind. They gave him visions of the world above, of the Goddess Suna, whom he immediately became charmed by, and knowledge of her domain and peoples. Struck dumb by all this knowledge, and consumed by this warmth, Olarav changed. He knew he had his calling, and he knew how to follow it. When the flames died down, he noticed he was no longer Olarav of the deep, wanderer of the underdeep… he was Olarav Moonfalcon, clad in the armor of his faith, bearing the symbol and greatsword of his faith. Since then, Olarav has traveled, aided by Kyron, the magnificent Unicorn throughout all the realms, listening and waiting for Suna’s commands and following her instructions.
Jasmine Bloodchanter, Enemy of Suna.   Jasmine Bloodchanter was actually a follower of Suna in high standing. For several years she aided the high ranking clerics within the order with their rituals, and even became a high ranking member herself. When the former high priestess passed on, Jasmine was one of the two names put forth to become new high priestess, and in fact, she was sure of this appointment. When the council delivered the news that Ythiseta Talari was to be the new high priestess and not Jasmine, she became delirious. She locked herself up for a short time until she was visited by a divine presence leading her away from her faith. The divine presence used her rage and anger to twist her from the lighted path and down a new path. She is now sworn against Suna, and is a nemesis to Ythiseta Talari.
