Melgramyr, God of Earth

Melgramyr
Holy Symbol: A diamond symbolizing his power and the creative beauty of his creations.
  Alignment: Neutral
  Domain: Earth
Favored weapon: Any weapons made of materials naturally made by Melgramyr such as iron or silver(no steel weaponry)
  Favored race: Dwarves
Favored Class: No true favored class. Although he prefers fighting classes to others.
  Background story:
The original god was an extremely powerful god who controlled many powers. One such power was the devastating power of the earth itself. He could not only create powerful earthquakes and landslides, this power also kept him protected from the new gods’ attacks. To defeat him the new gods tricked him into leaving the land and surrounded him. They severed his tie to this power which made him vulnerable and led to his downfall. After his defeat the gods created Melgramyr to control the power of the earth to make it safer for their mortal creations.
  Achievements:
While mining some rare materials for their poverty stricken village a group of dwarves received word that a tribe of orcs accompanied by their ogre slaves were headed to the mine to kill them and steal their mined goods. The dwarves prayed to Melgramyr to protect them and safely get them home. As the orcs closed in Melgramyr transformed the straightforward mine passageway into a complicated labyrinth. He then crafted a second passage for the dwarves. At the exit of the cave the dwarves discovered large amounds of mined gold and silve ores. This allowed their poor village to grow into a powerful kingdom which thrives today. This event has since been know as “The Miracle of Melgramyr”.
  Worshipping:
Priests of Melgramyr are required to live in the mountains were their temple or shrine is located. They cannot carry many possessions deemed unfitting such as steel weapons or armor. Followers are to use weapons and armor crafted at the ancient forge located in Melgramyr’s Mountain. This ancient forge is a temple said to be crafted Melgramyr himself. There are few shrines to Melgramyr located in forests or oceananic areas. Most are located at the base of mountains. Many others are carved in the walls of caves by ancient followers. These are always lavishly decorated in gem like statues.
  Omens and signs:
When traveling in Melgramyr’s domain be resectful of the local environment including creatures. If he deems your pressence uncomforting, be sure to keep an eye out for falling rocks. They may start out small, but the more insulting and angry he becomes the larger and more accurate the are. There are tales of whole a party of mages who were practicing some of their destructive spells in a cave. They were found years later crushed under a ton of boulders. When traveling through a cave if you feel a sense of de ja vu it may be that Melgramyr has you walking in circles. If the earth begins to shake stop whatever actions you are taking. This is a sign that if you continue Melgramyr will strike your party down using earth elementals.
  Artifacts
Diamond Sword - This sword is a weapon of overwhelming strength and beauty. The blade was crafted in the center of the earth. It was then molded with a golden hilt embroidered with different colored gems(three gems total). Each gem bestows upon the user a different power. The red gem gives the wielder +5 to hit and damage(later +10). The blue gem encases the character in a rocky shield. It takes 40 points of damage to break(later 80). The green gem can only be used once the sword recognizes the user as its master(unknown how this happens). This gem creates two stone versions of the person wielding it each equipped with a replica diamond sword. They wll fight until destroyed. This power can only be used once per month and only in a place where there is plenty of rocks.
Amulet of Safe passage - This amulet allows the wearer to find secret passages while in caves or near rocky regions. The user feels a sense that something in the stone formation is out of place and can thus find the hidden spot.
Devilish Iron Claymore - This weapon is a creative invention of Melgramyr. Understanding that iron is in the blood of most mortal creatures, this blade can take the iron from its victims to repair itself and become stronger. Normally appearing as a regular iron claymore, when in contact with an enemies blood it becomes encased in it. If an opponent is hit with this blade twice they receive a -2 to hit as they feel the strength draining from their body. If hit four times they receive a -5 to hit and a -3 to damage. If the blade breaks it can be repaired by putting it in a pool of blood. After using the blood of 100 victims the blade becomes blood red. If an opponent is hit by it they suffer damage equal to the wielders strength modifier. After draining the blood of 250 victims the blade gains the ability to speak to the wielder. The blade will begin to try to influence the character into doing its bidding.
  Ceremonies/Holidays:
Before the start of the winter season a ceremony is held in which each household gives up some gem or material back to the earth god. A group of priests pray around it as the materials are melted own together. Melgramyr then crafts it into a statue with multiple colors and is a symbol of hope for the coming year. Another holiday occurs when a child becomes the age of 5. Each is given a small gem. Each year they come to the cave of hope and place the gem under some dirt. They return the next day and depending how much they prayed to Melgramyr that year the gem grows in size and beauty. Once they reach adult age they are told to sell it and this money helps them prepare for the jouney of life they are about to take. In dwarven villages each year a miner is chosen as the voice of Melgramyr. This person decides where to mine and what things are to be crafted. If Melgramyr is impressed by this persons’ work they are very rewarded well. If he is angered the person meets a horrible fate.
  Sects:
There are two known sects; the Dwarven Mining Association and the Cult of Melgramyr. The DMA is an organization that prays to Melgramyr to help find the best mining areas and better ways to craft items. It is filled with the dwarven leaders from kingdoms around the land. They have no leader as each person expresses different opinions depending on their peoples’ needs. Little is known about the Cult of Melgramyr other than their symbol is a bloody diamond.
Aphorisms and Words of Wisdom: Strength is not only raw power, but also how you use that power.
  Notable Minions and Npc’s
Neimyngar - This tall elf is the leader of the Cult of Melgramyr. Before becoming the leader he was the prince of a small elven kingdom and their strongest warrior. He wears a helmet that resembles a crown with a large red gem in the center. His armor is gold platemail. He wields two swords one black longsword and a shortsword with a dragon crafted on the hilt. He was once said to have killed an elder dragon that had been terrorizing a small dwarven community that possessed many rare artifacts. The only minions Melgramyr possesses are the earth elementals.
