Physical quirks
Face is almost constantly wreathed in darkness, with only a faint blue glow coming from his eyes.
Apparel & Accessories
Always wears a very wide brimmed hat which throws his face into constant shadow.
Dressed in a short poncho, ending about midway down the upper arm, over a long, slightly tattered trench-coat. The left sleeve is flared out, while the right sleeve has been torn off, revealing a bandaged arm. Bandages also cover the midriff.
Melvin's pants are tight-fitting, with multiple patches. At their base the pants are covered in bandages that act as makeshift socks, along with a pair of simple shoes.
A series of pouches attached to Melvin's belt provide storage for smaller items.
In addition, Melvin carries around a multitude of staves, including a hooked staff, a segmented staff, and a metal staff with a pair of small cages on each end.

Personal history
Prior to joining Tes Reprobi, Melvin was involved with a magical ritual of some description. The exact details of this involvement are unknown as either through deliberate action, or accidental miscalculation the interaction left him with no memory of the incident, nor any time prior. In addition to the amnesia, the magical mishap also left Melvin with a diminished presence. Causing him to be easily forgotten or overlooked, quickly fading out of memory if not directly observed. His face is almost always shrouded in darkness, irregardless of lighting, though he is quick to burn if not properly shielded from direct sunlight.
This unique condition resulted in Melvin being quickly taken in my magical researchers around the Confederation, though he was forgotten just as quickly, and spent much of the intervening years wandering the wilderness of the Greenpine Forest, where his reduced presence helped him avoid detection by the local fauna, and Greenfolk patrols.
