The culture of the Northern Confederation is centered around the embracing of magic or "The Gifts" as they are referred to by members of the Confederation.
The society of the Confederation, despite espousing freedom, is highly regimented into several casts based on one's magical abilities, based loosely off of the ranks of The Five Eyes of the old Arcanum Empire. These ranks include the Blind, those who lack magic, the First Eyes, who can see but not use magic, the Second Eyes who can use but have not been touched by magic, and the Third Eyes, who have received the blessings of the arcane and mastered them.

History
Founded in 1087 during the Northern Congress by leaders and dignitaries from Portempest, Magtria Vila, Valeforth, Edrigate, and Easton.
