Clan Frostbeard
Members of the Frostbeard clan dwell in the frozen north, in the Savage Tips mountain range. Their capital city is Deggaduum, buried deep within the bowels of the mountain. The Frostbeard dwarves are the most isolated group of dwarves due to their remote location. They have friendly relations with the Feasgar, or twilight elves, who dwell in the Everfrost Forest located at the base of the mountain. The two groups often trade with one another and with traders who come from Ogyra to the south.
The alliance between the Feasgar and the Frostbeard is in part because both groups refused to send soldiers to fight in the Saint's War and so were not punished by Fyrn's Wrath. Although the two groups have suffered the same way that the rest of Karth has suffered, they have not been directly punished as their kin. During the Saint's War, both were shunned by their respective communities, some even whispered the word treason, called the groups "oath breakers," and threatened to march on their kingdoms next.
When the war was concluded, and Fyrn brought the sky down on the heretics and tore the earth asunder, the Frostbeard and Feasgar were vindicated. The years of punishment and abuse at the hands of their kinsmen were not forgotten however; as elves and dwarves have long memories to go with their long lives. Later, when Fyrn's Wrath began to take hold, and their brothers and sisters called for aid, the two turned their backs on them and turned toward one another, strengthening their bond. The current Boyer, Thrarmir Bloodshoulder, sits the throne and sees no need in helping his kin when war was openly discussed for decades.
Frostbeard dwarves are pale in complexion, almost to the point of being albinos. Their eyes are always a coal black with no discernible iris. Traditionally Frostbeard dwarves keep their black hair longest of all dwarves. Most have hair and beards so long that they are often tucked into their belts. Although some Frostbeards braid their hair, it is rare.
Structure
The Boyer has ultimate authority, however many of his or her decisions are made with careful consideration from the Iron Counsel which consists of guild heads from each guild in the clan.
