Dwarven Empire

Structure

The empire was an intricate mess of institutions and clans, all obeying a single king of the Fireforge clan lineage.

Public Agenda

The dwarves wanted to be left to themselves to craft their great weaponry and build their enormous citadels and mine networks.

Assets

The empire had a standing army of around 20'000.

History

Dwarven people from the Eternal Empire founded a new empire in Eisenhowl, wanting to spread dwarven glory to the material plane. These first settlers were from the clans Fireforge and Battlehammer.

Disbandment

The Queen of the Dwarven Empire founded the Holy Dwarven Empire.

Territories

The Fireforges held a few isles in the Colupan archipelago such as Eisenhowl or Mintarn, as well as a few colonies near the Frostfell.

Military

The dwarven army had a striking force, at best, of 10'000 soldiers.

Technological Level

The Dwarven Empire was often top-of-the-line in scientific discoveries. They crafted warships of incredible power, developed flying vessels that didn't use magic, discovered gunpowder and created the most powerful firearms to exist, and created flamethrowers and acid launchers.

Foreign Relations

The Dwarven Empire entertained friendly relations throughout most of its existence, preferring good trading over disputes. It had occasional difficulties, such as with the orcish tribes or Trensandor goblinoids.

Agriculture & Industry

The main food produces came from Eisenhowl and the colonies, and were shipped to locations that didn't have access to such foods. Weaponry was produced mainly in Arabor by the RDAWC, using metals from mines all across the empire. Other settlements produced war materials of supreme power, such as the navy's stormvessels and the automatic ballistas.

Trade & Transport

Dwarves traded with anyone who would, all through their twenty millenia years of existence. Their weaponry and tools were highly prized, as they were of unequaled durability and power.

Education

Young dwarves had a multitude of options for education in Eisenhowl (especially Arabor) and the Frostfell colonies. There were public schools, clan-run private schools (such as those run by Greataxe), military schools, as well as some obscure others.

Infrastructure

Dwarves are master builders, and therefore the empire had a multitude of constructions. Enormous fortifications and mines, aqueducts, ports, airports (in later times) and others.

Mythology & Lore

The dwarves venerate the Mordinsamman, the dwarven pantheon, of which Moradin is the leader. They are Khazadists.

Preferred imports for the dwarves were, of course, gold and other wealth. However, they occasionally needed things like food, or equipment when the Orc Wars had ridden them temporarily of their homeland. They also required medical aid, ships, and ale.
Legislative Body
The King follows a base law set at the creation of the empire, but it can be changed by him and a variety of governmental offices, such as the Dwarven Security Agency.
Judicial Body
In most affairs, each town's clan's judicial representatives handle deviants from the law and are usually granted with full royal powers. In case of military problems, it is handled by a superior officer or the Supreme Court of Military Justice. In some high-ranging cases, the king or one of his representatives can take over judgement.
