Fall of Arabor
Summary
The Fall of Arabor concerns the time in 0 OW when the capital of the Dwarven Empire fell to orcish hordes, and all the sadness concerning it.
Spread
All dwarves of Ochebana living after 0 OW kow of the event, and the tales of the furious dwarven king Dain Fireforge fighting to regain the mines. Some other races, such as elves and gnomes, still knew the tale centuries later, when humans had long forgotten.
Variations & Mutation
The dwarves, when telling the tale to other races, often exaggerated, portraying their king as a god of fire, and their armies as grand fleets of warships. Although this isn't too far from reality, the legend is often known in exaggerated form by other races, and often by younger dwarves, too.
Cultural Reception
The tale of lost Arabor is important to every dwarf. It is the fuel that keeps the legions fighting, even in the Holy Dwarven Empire, the kernel of the dwarven kin.
In Literature
A multitude of poems and songs were written in the name of Arabor's fall and its high king's suffering and rage.
In Art
Artwork representing the dwarven king after he left the mortal world often showed him in his crimson cape and war crown, surrounded by columns of fire and with eyes blazing red.
