Khazadism (Classical)

"Oh, Moradin, we thank thee for thine Clay and Gold"

Khazadism was founded in the earliest years of the Eternal Empire, and was the pivotal dwarven religion for millenia before smaller subsidiaries formed.

Beliefs

According to khazadism, all the world was formed out of clay by Moradin the Dwarffather. The last he formed were the dwarves, made out of the small scraps of clay which remained after the creation of all other races. To these three races, his brother, Goibhníu, gave resilience, braveness, and the secrets of metal. However, a less-known sister of Moradin, Lugmathor, gave them greed, ambition, and stubbornness, so that forever they may remember they were mortal beings.   From then on, the three Fathers looked over their children, guiding them where they needed, and punishing them when they needed.

Structure

Khazadism is multifaceted and its application varies across the realms. Often, it consists of separate temples dedicated to various parts of the Dwarven Pantheon united under one dwarf or council, often called Diocese or Diokhazdist council.

History

When the dwarves first degenerated from Krynn, they needed a god to protect them, as they were weak and helpless. Moradin came to aid, giving birth to the entire Dwarven Pantheon as he did so, often through mating with early dwarves.

Divine Origins

Moradin is said to have give the wisdom of Khazadism to the first Diocese.

Cosmological Views

Khazadists have a very unbiased view of Ochebana, believing evidence instead of theory as to the build of the world. They, as did most other people, have no idea how the world was created. Instead, they believe Moradin made it for all races and then placed the clay of the dwarves upon it, destined to last forever and end up ruling them all.

Granted Divine Powers

Although most dwarven cultures had hardly any power gained through godly influence, the Dwarven Pantheon seems to have made up for its weak presence in the last centuries of Ochebana, granting the Holy Dwarven Empire their very presence in the material world.
