The Burning of Heaven

On every corner of Karnia, for 3 days and 3 nights the sky blazed with falling tears of flame. While the intensity varied, it did not abate until the very end. In some places metal fell from the sky, mostly causing mild to moderate damage in the process. The lands east of the Dalewin mountains suffered the heaviest blows, particularly in the area that would later be used to construct the Erudite League.

While explanations for the Burning of Heaven are few and far between, most can agree that it was the heralding event for the war that followed. As the damage it caused was largely minimal, it does not make sense to catagorize it as a pre-emptive strike by this unknown foe. There is some credence given to scholars who claim it was an intimidation tactic, but if that is the case it does not seem to have been particularly effective.
