Neidyn

Princess Neidyn

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Neidyn is tall with strong arms and hands from years of archery and rock climbing. She is lithe and quick, but always seems to try to take up less space and avoid notice in her demeanor and dress.

Facial Features

The princess has high cheekbones and slim eyebrows. Her eyes, when not focused on reading, try to focus on everything around her at once, sometimes giving her a spacey, unfocused expression. She has a button nose and full lips for an Ithilien woman, which is to say about average for a hume.

Physical quirks

Practically the only time her body language opens up is when Neidyn is practicing her archery, climbing, or some other physical activity, when she owns her space confidently and firmly, at least until someone says something about it. Then, as with any time almost anyone calls attention to her mannerisms, she blushes and becomes scattered and clumsy in her over-analytical self-consciousness. She murmurs as she reads and tends to keep her hands close to her body, nearly always grasping a book or scroll. Neidyn taught herself to be ambidextrous for the sake of the mental and dexterous challenge it presented.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Neidyn was born the second of two daughters to the King of Ithilien. Her mother died when she was still young and, with her father always distant and busy with matters of the realm, she and her sister were largely raised by their instructors and servitors. Neidyn has been fascinated with archery for as long as she can remember and took up practicing the skill as soon as she could pull a bow string. As she entered puberty, she became known as the unofficial assistant curator of records for the kingdom when the curator himself grew tired of ushering out of the archives and back to her lessons.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Neidyn secretly strives to earn her father's affection, while also working towards becoming an established scholar.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

She is a skilled archer, tactician, and combatant. She speaks three languages fluently. While she has a certain gift for words, she cannot draw a straight line to save her life. And though she insists she understands the theory of the culinary arts, she certainly has no talent for it. Intelligent and capable though she is, the princess of Ithilien is often awkward and clumsy in conversations with those she is not especially familiar with.

Virtues & Personality perks

Attentive, intelligent, thorough, determined and driven in studies and self-improvement,

Vices & Personality flaws

Nervous, shy, self-conscious, highly self-critical, sometimes hesitant to act when she has an audience

Social

Family Ties

Her only immediate relatives are her father the king and her elder sister. She has other cousins in the lower nobility.

Religious Views

Neidyn views religion as an integral part of her life, even if not a spiritual one. From an academic perspective, she is fascinated with Moroïsian lore, practices, and principles. From a spiritual perspective, however, she regards the Moroïs as a fundamental part of the world: undeniable, deserving of respect, but not necessarily requiring worship.

Speech

In most situations, Neidyn often does not speak unless spoken to. When she does speak, she hesitates briefly, choosing her words, then utters them with precision and care. Her voice is soft when she is nervous, and she must remind herself to speak up. When she does speak up, her voice is strong and carries easily. She tends not to notice the confidence reinforcing her speech when she gets into the flow of a conversation or how her words begin to tumble from her mouth when she gets excited.

History

Ithilen Cro is disappointed that he has only managed to father daughters instead of sons. He considers his daughters a constant reminder of just another of his failure's in life.

Wealth & Financial state

As princess of Ithilien, Neidyn technically has access to much of the kingom's wealth. However, her father keeps a tight hold on monetary decisions besides his own. That said, she convinces others in positions to speak to her father, such as his advisors or the curator of records, to arrange purchases the king might otherwise overrule.
