Post Mortem

A guild that strikes fear in everyone's heart.

Structure

The Guild is divided into three main ranks:

• Matre/Patre Mortem sole leader of the guild, all members of the guild have to obey this rank.
• The Abiter Filius/Gnata make sure that the will of the Patre/Matre is carried out. These people are always a member of the guild, their main task is to set things in motion and work out new contracts
• The Nepos Carnifex is the executive force of the guild, who actually carry out the jobs. A Carnifex is most of the time a proven member who carries out more advanced contracts

The guild gains great power out of the orphans and beggars. Post Mortem cares for them and the poor to run errands and obtain information for them. These people are considered as Obliviscata.

History

No one knows when Post Mortem appeared the first time in history. They always have just been around. Some indications lead to believe, that they have been a tribe who used to live in the city of Adorra before it got conquered by the Empire. Since then they took contracts of all people to fulfil criminal deeds. A trend can be seen over the last centuries, it seems that they rarely kill poor people, only those who stand in their ways. They never seem to follow greater schemes. They sure have killed higher ups but only to fulfil the contract that was given to them.
They have also spread to the other realms and gained control in these new territories real quick. It is nearly impossible to get rid of them easily because they have influence in all classes. Those who have tried died a terrible death, so the realms just try to minimalize those criminal activities.
