Elderby

In the midst of golden fields in shinning light of a setting sun, between green hills and small streams soars the bright white city of Elderby. Home to the nobility of Ruhn, which is the great industrial city east of Elderby.

The Nobility of Ruhn moved to this place after they couldnt stand the depressing reality of the city they once lived in. Here they reside in lavishly large built Manision with huge beautiful gardens. The castle soars above the many mansions and looks like straight out of a fairytail, with its massive gardens and pleasure grounds. Here in Elderby everything is colorful and the air smells like flowers. The enviroment of Elderby is picturesque, lush fields and a beautiful streams flow next to it. Elderby was designed that the nobility squanders their money to get additional funds for the Legions of the empire. The citiziens have great ambitions to have the cleanest city in all of Kandria, as a symbol to that all houses are made of white stone and the more wealth someone wants to show the brighter the stones and then show it to everyone in your garden parties.

Besides being the most beautiful place to spent your holidays, it also contributes a large portion of food to the empire.

Demographics

The nobilty consists only of Humans, who reign over the half-elven population who are only allowed to work in the gardens or fields of said nobility. They are not trusted to make food for the nobility so halflings and humans work in the kitchen and in logistics. The halflings established themselfs as farmers and use the half-elves as cheap labor and humans as mercenarys to watch over the fields.

Government

This city is governed by the senate member Thargent, who like always is to busy to govern itself, so he has deputy doing this work. Deputy has only the power to make proposals to the nobility of elderby, they have to agree for new laws and taxes. The very special assingment for the Deputy in Elderby is to create harmony by any means necessary, only in absolute dire situations violence is an option. The lighthearted finer folks wouldnt be shocked if they were confronted with reality.

Defences

Who ever designed this never thought about that it might be attacked. There is a feeble white stone wall protecting the mansions of the high and mighty.

Industry & Trade

Besides selling a large portion of food to the other cities in the empire, Elderby also thrives from tourism.

Tourism

A traveller might visit this location for the beautiful gardens and of course the many festivals that take place here. If someone wants to leave the worries of the world behind then Elderby is the place to be. Castle Elderby with its white walls and Tower and the crimson red shindles is also a sight to behold.
