Ara'Tashi

The Ara'Tashi commonly known as half-elves are the desendents of the the former elven population who used to to rule over many parts of the continent. As the bastard childs between humans slaves and elven aristocracy, they have been outcasts ever since. After fall of the elven empires many millenia ago, half-elves have been enslaved by the humans as sort of a revenge agains their former overlords. Countless years have gone by before the Ara'Tashi officially broke free from the shackels of slavery, even though humans have found other ways to make them amenable. Many of them have been intendured by citiziens of the Andric Empire and in other regions they are scapegoats for everything that has gone terribly wrong. As victims of to many pogroms, they tend to live in small and enclosed communities in the humans cities or live in collectives in remote areas of the different empires. Many of the small enclaves can be found in the western forest of the Andric Empire but some also have decided to be part of the Calphilea caravans. The differences between elves and half-elves have been lost by the times and if fullblooded elves are still alive no one would know it. It is also highly unlikely that any Ara'Tashi would reveal a fullblooded elf.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Ara'Tashi are often tall and slender in their appreance. The have slightly pointed ears and chins, but this might vary depending on how much human-blood flows through their veins. Women tend to have the purple eyes while the men have green eyes. While other eye colours exists these are the most common. It is suspected that this could be an indicator of how much elven blood runs in their veins.

Behaviour

The years of mistreatment have made many Ara'Tashi quiet cautios and scetpical. They tend to stay closer to their kind and can be quite hostile to other humanoid species they encounter. Still some are born with a kind of naivety and curious behavior, this often leads to them being intendured.

Social Structure

The enclaves they live in are often lead the eldest of the tribe, who is responsible for all the important decisions the tribes go through. If they can make the members of the tribes meet each other every night to share important news and information with each other.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

They are almost everywhere, but most seek refuge in the woods by Griffon Shire or by the desert folk of the Calphilea.

Average Intelligence

Half-elves are quite smart and with propere education would outsmart most humans.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Half-Elves have it easier to interact with the magical tissue, that they need to cast spells. Instinctively they enhance their sights to see better in the dark, but they also use it to refine their smell and hearing. They are constantly constantly manipulating the magical tissue around them, which makes them easier to track for experienced spellweavers.
